You take off from Schänis airfield for a long 2-hour flight to Graubünden and the Engadine. The Septimer pass, at an altitude of 2310 m, takes your breath away. Then the Bernina Pass at 2328 m altitude. This pass links the Engadine to Valtellina in Italy. In fact, it’s the only pass – the highest in the Swiss Alps – that remains open in winter too. You then continue your flight towards the Maloja pass, which rises to an altitude of 1815 m. This road pass is located in the commune of Bregaglia. Your flight continues to Piz Corvatsch, 3451 m above sea level. It is part of the Bernina chain in the Upper Engadine. Your journey then continues to Piz Bernina, 4048 m above sea level. It is the highest peak in the Bernina chain and in the entire eastern Alps. What’s more, it’s the only peak above 4000 m in the region. After this magnificent 2-hour touring flight, you can relax at the Schänis airfield.
