FAQ Canyoning Depending on your group size we recommend booking a few days or even weeks in advance. The risks involved in Canyoning are no higher than on the way to the place of the activity with the car, probably less. Just like driving a car, there is a certain amount of risk involved. Through highly trained staff, professional behaviour and careful selection of the best equipment, we try to reduce this risk as much as possible. In general yes! In a canyon the water level can quickly rise so much that a Canyoning trip would not be safe anymore. In this case we will do our best to find an alternative date for you. You only need to come wearing normal clothing and shoes. We will give you all required Canyoning equipment. You just need a bathing suit or similar to wear underneath this. Please bring a warm Fleece or other jumper/pullover, as well as a towel and a strap for your glasses if you have glasses (hard contact lenses are not very suitable for Canyoning). In the summer sun crème is advisable. All belongings should fit into a day-size backpack. If you don't have one, please use a small bag which should close. If you require any medication please tell the guides beforehand and we can arrange to carry it for you egg asthma spray or anti allergy drugs. Depending on the region we provide all necessary equipment including a neoprene wetsuit, Canyoning boots, neoprene jacket, life jacket, helmet and climbing harness. The boots we provide are the best for cold water and the most comfortable for Canyoning. Don't worry; we wash them with a strong disinfectant, just like all the other neoprene equipment. Only if it is waterproof! Swissraft does, however, decline any responsibility for lost or damaged personal items. If you definitely want to take pictures during Canyoning we advise you to take a cheap, waterproof disposable camera, whose loss won't hit you so hard. Each Canyoning tour will be under the control of a professional Canyoning Guide. They have specialised training (recognised by the Swiss Ministry for Sports) and are issued with a licence by the Swiss Trend sport Association. There will always be at least two guides on each trip. In addition, at least one guide will have a trip-leading license, which is only issued to persons with lots of Canyoning experience and after additional tests and training. The various trips we offer have different minimum ages. In our brochure and on our website you will find the minimum ages for each activity. No! Swimming ability is not totally necessary as you will have a swim vest and the wetsuit also helps you float. However, you should let your guide know about the level of your swimming abilities before the trip. No, basic fitness is sufficient. During the trip you will get plenty of breaks to relax and enjoy the scenery. No! Canyoning is an outdoor activity to be taken seriously and requires the full concentration and reaction ability of the participants.
