The ROBINSON R22, recognizable by its chimney on the cockpit, is a 2-seater helicopter: pilot plus student. For an introduction to helicopter piloting, it’s ideal.
First, your instructor gives you a short theory lesson on helicopter flight. Then together you head for your helicopter on the tarmac. You’ll take a technical tour of the helicopter and check out some of its key parts. Everything’s okay, and you climb aboard and take the controls. The control tower gives you take-off clearance. With your left hand, you activate the general pitch, the rotor turns faster and faster, and you take off. You hover, and gently move the stick to gain horizontal speed and move forward.

Initiation on a helicopter from GRANGES – ROBINSON R22 – From CHF 495.00
CHF 495.00From Grenchen airfield in the canton of Solothurn, you have chosen an introductory flight on the ROBINSON R22.
The ROBINSON R22 can carry two people. With its piston engine, it is extremely reliable and is probably one of the best-selling models among private customers.
Our instructor will welcome you at Grenchen airfield. First your instructor gives you a quick introduction to helicopter flying.
Then join your helicopter on the tarmac. It shows you which mechanical parts of the helicopter you need to control to fly safely.
Then you climb aboard and take the right-hand seat, since you’re the pilot. Your instructor sits on your left and explains the function of each dial on the instrument panel. Contact us! You’re cleared for takeoff, and the rotor reaches 520 rpm. Using your left hand, you activate the general pitch and gently take off in a hover. You will now perform several maneuvers under the watchful eye of your instructor, who is in dual control.At Grenchen airfield we have 3 different types of helicopter for introductory flying lessons. Helicopter flight from PFAFFNAU – NORTH EIGER FACE – 60 min. – From CHF 495.00
CHF 495.00Eiger North Face and landing on the glacier
With a glass of champagne or a cup of coffee, admire the imposing Petersgrat or Kanderfirn glacier.
We take off from Pfaffnau and head for Willisau, Entlebuch, Brienzer-Rothorn, Lake Brienz, Faulhorn and Grindelwald. The flight then continues to the Mittellegigrat along the impressive north face of the Eiger and Jungfrau. You then fly over the Aletsch and Lötschenlücke glaciers before landing on the Petersgrat or Kanderfirn glacier. After a coffee break or a good bottle of wine, the return flight takes you to Blüemlisalp, Lake Öeschinen and Kiental. Then on to Lake Thun, the Niederhorn, the Emmental, Napf and Huttwil, before resting at the Pfaffnau heliport.

This flight from Bern-Belp airport includes an intermediate landing on the Petersgrat glacier.
Departing from Bern-Belp, you head for the Bernese Oberland. You fly over the town of Thun and its lake. Then continue your flight to the north face of the Eiger. The flight over the Aletsch glacier is breathtaking. You land on the Petersgrat glacier at 3000m. After a few minutes’ break, you continue your flight through the Gastern valley to Kandersteg. The helicopter tour ends with a stopover in Adelboden and Lenk, before returning to Berne-Belp.

After another take-off, we continue our journey through the Maderan valley to Göscheneralp. The flight continues over the Titlis and Pilatus before we take another rest at the Pfaffnau heliport.
