Rafting in Valais

In Valais, the Rhône, Viège and Dranse rivers offer some great rafting adventures. First and foremost, this activity, also known as riverrafting, is performed in teams aboard inflatable boats.

The Rhone, a turbulent river with many rapids, is ideal for those seeking excitement. Despite the waves, it’s well worth the effort. The Visp, on the other hand, is passable from June to August, when the glaciers melt at altitude, offering a refreshing experience. On the one hand, the Dranse de Bagnes, with a slightly lower level than the Rhône and Viège rivers, is a gentler option. What’s more, it’s accessible from the age of 8, making it an ideal family choice.

Riverrafting attracts adventure and thrill-seekers. Similarly, the Swiss Alps offer a variety of routes in different cantons and in neighbouring France. Specially-designed inflatable boats ensure a thrilling ride down the rapids. Participants receive full equipment, including vest, helmet, paddle, wetsuit and neoprene booties. In bad weather, we’ll give you a windbreaker. What’s more, we advise you to wear synthetic underwear rather than wool to avoid getting cold.

Swissraft offers a range of courses accessible to beginners and experienced riders alike. Sailing on whitewater offers a unique perspective on nature, with changing landscapes and an adrenalin rush at every turn. Whether you’re looking for the excitement of rapids or the tranquility of calm waters, rafting promises a memorable adventure. Come and discover this experience with Swissraft and explore the beauty of a canton by booking your rafting trip in Valais.
